Kimswerd Kimswerd is small, but the history of this village is impressive. One of the residents of Kimswerd leads our guests around the village and the church next to the inn. He knows all about the history of the village, its residents and freedom fighter Pier Donia, the church and how Domela Nieuwenhuis organized the labour in this region. About Pier Donia, known as Greate Pier much has been written and filmed. Last year a Dutch film crew made a short documentary about his life (in Frysian language).
